The ending's title, "Que sommes-nous ?" is a reference to a painting by French artist Paul Gauguin called D'où venons-nous ? Que sommes-nous ? Où allons-nous ? (English: Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?). The art was created in Tahiti and likely inspired the setting of the ending.
